This Privacy Policy explains how DrishVeda collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use our consumer website and daily-guidance service.
DrishVeda is currently an adult-only free pilot. This policy should be read with our Terms of Service.
Information we collect
- account information, including your name, email address, and authentication identifiers
- birth-profile information, including your birth date, exact birth time, birthplace, place coordinates, and derived timezone
- your current location when you enter it or allow location access, including coordinates needed to calculate your local day
- daily-guidance requests and results, consent records, device and browser information, logs, and service diagnostics

First-party product analytics
During the pilot, we record a small allowlisted set of events needed to understand registration, onboarding, successful Today use, return activity, panchang engagement, profile corrections, chart-view engagement, and privacy-safe sharing.
These events use internal identifiers and fixed categories. We do not send birth-profile fields, precise coordinates, place or timezone text, chart facts, daily narration, credentials, IP addresses, user-agent strings, or email addresses into the product-events ledger. We do not use a third-party analytics vendor for this pilot.
We use this data for aggregate cohort reporting, including onboarding, first-value completion, return rates, engagement, and share-driven visits. Raw product events are retained for up to 180 days and are deleted when the associated account is erased.
Location information
Current location is used to identify the local date, timezone, Moon, lunar day, and nakshatra for your guidance. Technical logs and short-lived caches may temporarily contain request information. We do not use current location for advertising.
Service providers and sharing
We use Firebase for authentication and related account services. We may use Google Places and Time Zone services to resolve places and timezones, along with hosting, monitoring, backup, and email providers needed to run DrishVeda.
We share information only as needed to provide, secure, and support the service, comply with law, or protect rights and safety. We do not sell personal information.
Retention and deletion
We keep account, birth-profile, consent, and service data while your account is active and for as long as reasonably needed for security, legal obligations, dispute handling, and backups. Retention periods vary by record and purpose.
You may ask us to correct your profile or erase your account data by emailing contact@drishveda.com. We may retain limited records where law, fraud prevention, security, or legitimate dispute resolution requires it.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect user information. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so you should protect your credentials and device and contact us if you suspect unauthorized access.
Age limit and policy changes
DrishVeda is for people aged 18 or older and is not directed to children. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us so we can review and remove it where appropriate.
We may update this policy as the service or legal requirements change. The date above identifies the current version, and material changes will be communicated where reasonably practical.
